    to

This summer, visit The Battle Ground Hotel Museum and the Willoughby Historical Museum to learn more about our city's history! Both Museums are open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, starting May 18 - August 25.

    Battle Ground Hotel Museum

The Battle Ground Hotel Museum is located on the hallowed grounds of the Lundy’s Lane Battlefield. The restored 1850’s tavern displays furnished period rooms and artefacts from the War of 1812. The Battle Ground Hotel Museum is the only illustration of a 19th Century inn which exists as a product of the commemoration of the War of 1812, and also as an element of early Ontario tourism.

6137 Lundy’s Lane, Niagara Falls, Ontario

    Willoughby Historical Museum

The Willoughby Historical Museum is a former schoolhouse. Visitors can admire former report cards and photographs and observe the markings on the floor where the desks were bolted down. Early life is shown through farming tools and family heirlooms. Visitors are invited to enjoy two interactive exhibits: take a turn weaving on the loom, or connect a call through the telephone operating system which is still working!

The Goldspink Collection came to the Niagara Falls History Museum in the summer of 2023 upon the closing of the TAG Art Gallery. Comprised of historically significant Niagara Falls related prints, watercolours, and pencil drawings, this large-scale donation is a generous gift from brothers Tom and Frank Goldspink.

The Goldspink Collection: An Exhibition of Niagara Falls will highlight the iconic Niagara Falls through the lens of artists and travellers over the span of more than 250 years. The show features scenes of Niagara Falls from the late-17th to mid-20th century. Many of the pieces were collected from individuals whose ancestors served in the British military in Niagara.

The Museum is proud to house this collection in a public institution where our community will have access for generations to come.
