Artist Bio:

Samantha Fickel is a Canadian New Media artist who completed an MFA in Art and Technology at SAIC and holds a BFA in Sculpture from OCAD University. Using time-based, interactive, and immersive installations, she seeks to deconstruct familiar technologies in ways which invite unexpected sensory experiences. Her work often observes that life is equally as vibrant on one side of a screen as another. She has exhibited both domestically and internationally including the flagship exhibition of Vector Festival’s 5th Year Anniversary in Toronto and her solo exhibition Interspace at Stuart & Co Gallery, Chicago. Currently, Samantha is furthering her exploration of Interactive VR Spaces while in residence at the Niagara Falls Exchange Artist Studios.
