Expand/CollapseExplore the world of bees and wine with Rosewood Winery. Taste some mead and honey, while learning about the history of these two products, their production, and beekeeping in general. The evening will be lead by William Roman, a 3rd generation life-long beekeeper and general manager of Rosewood Winery. Participants will be provided three mead tastings, and four honey tastings.
Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Scoop’s incredible show features lots of laughs and audience participation. After the show, explore the Museum galleries and complete a scavenger hunt. Best suited for ages 5+.
Pre-Registration Required. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. All attendees must have a ticket.
Parking behind the Museum is currently under construction as we build our exciting new Culture Hub. Look for City parking lots off of Main Street, Ferry Street, and Peer Street. You will also find on-street parking throughout the neighborhood.

Wonders of Wood - Show and Competition

10:00 AMStained Glass Workshop
Expand/Collapse6-hour workshop with half hour break for lunch. Please bring your own lunch.
Description: Learn the skills for copper foiling stained glass. Begin by learning the skills to cut, grind, foil and solder while fabricating a grape leaf window sun catcher. This course is a hands on media. Hand building strength is required. Finished sun catchers will be taken home but not other tools.
Workshop to include:
Safety: Students will begin the class by going over safety procedures.
Please wear long pants and closed toed shoes, and bring a mask if you are sensitive to smells/fumes.
Proper procedures to cut glass: Practice items will be provided.
Pattern and proper cutting sequence: Feather patterns will be provided and the students will be shown the proper sequencing of cuts. Each piece will be ground to fit perfect to the next piece.
Foiling: Once all pieces are cut out and fitted properly students will be shown how to foil. The foil should fall evenly on each side of the glass. A fid will be provided to secure the foil to the glass.
Flux: Students will be shown how to apply flux.
Soldering: Students will be shown how to tack the glass pieces together. The proper procedure for finishing soldering will be demonstrated. Students will have time to solder. Sun catcher will be flipped and flux applied and soldered to other side.
Edging: Solder will then be applied to edges of sun catcher.
Finishing: Students will then be shown how to attach a hanger to sun catcher. Wash and dry sun catchers.
Patina and polish: How to apply patina and polish.
Museum Members: $80
Non-Members: $90
