Todd Liddiard

Todd Liddiard was born in 1972 and grew up in Niagara Falls (Chippawa). He attended King George V, F.J. Rutland, and Westlane schools. He was always a happy young boy who excelled at art. Todd loved the Star Wars films as a child and had an impressive collection of the original toys. From a young age, Todd stayed focused on his goal to create visual effects for movies. While in his teens, Todd went to California alone to see exactly what was required to achieve his dream. Returning to Canada to complete his education, Todd studied electronics engineering at the University of Western Ontario and Niagara College, and then visual effects at Seneca College. After graduating, Todd moved to Vancouver where he started his career as a digital compositing artist which led to working with Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic in San Francisco. Todd has worked as Senior Digital Compositor and Senior Inferno Compositor on major films including Iron Man, The Transformers series, and The Avengers to name a few. His filmography includes several television series and miniseries: Andromeda, Stargate: Atlantis, and The Outer Limits. He has been nominated and won many awards for his work including an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for Tin Man (2008), the Gemini Award for Best Visual Effects for Stargate: Atlantis (2005 and 2007) and the Leo Award which celebrates excellence in British Columbia Film & Television for Andromeda
(2001 and 2003). Today, Todd lives his dream working on the visual effects for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens; living in Vancouver with his wife Geeta and their son Rowan.
